The region is splendid with green mountains in the countryside and cliffs diving into a turquoise ocean on the coast. The wavy oceanfront is the perfect spot for surfers.
Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Hendaye are attractive ports to wander near the ocean and eat seafood. Bayonne is considered as the true cultural capital of the region. It hosts a renown lively festival in July.
